Are you looking for first class dementia care in Sheffield for your loved one?
Give them the gift of safe, understanding and endlessly patient care at Pingley Court Care Home
Choosing a care home for your loved one, especially when they have dementia, can be difficult. The best way to assess if a home is right for your loved one is to visit and get a feel for the atmosphere, see how well the residents are treated, and what the staff are like with them.
We'd love you to come and visit Pingley Court to see how we measure up. You're very welcome to call in anytime. In the meantime we've listed below answers to some of the questions you may have. If there's anything we've missed please feel free to call us on 0114 478 2095.
Will you be able to cope with my loved one's dementia?
Pingley Court is not a specialist dementia unit for people who are exhibiting violent, disruptive or aggressive behaviour. If this describes your loved one we recommend you seek specialist help.
For most people who are living with dementia this is not the case and Pingley Court will be a great choice. It is primarily a luxury residential care home that has the expertise in dealing with dementia for those residents who develop it as they get older, or those who simply can no longer cope effectively at home.
We recognise that excellent care for your loved one is as much about them enjoying life and looking forward to the days ahead as it is them being in an environment where fun, laughter and friendship are encouraged, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
They will be supported to participate in as many of the many social activities as they choose or are able to and our well organised and scheduled activities programme, alongside Pingley Court's beautiful surroundsings, will help create the right balance for them.
If you are unsure of whether Pingley Court is the right care home to accommodate your loved one's needs please feel free to call the Home Manger on 0114 478 2095 for a confidential chat.
How do I know they will be well looked after?
We feel the best people to tell you the sort of care your loved one will receive at Pingley Court are those who have experienced it. So, here's what just a few of our many grateful families have to say about their loved one's stay here.
If you want a beautifully, newly refurbished "home", with no expense spared don't delay
Of the various residential homes we visited in the area, this is the only we found that felt truly "home from home", in fact, more like a 4 Star hotel. The friendly and industrious staff along with their award-winning manageress made our choice easy.
It is a family business, that also runs 3 highly rated homes in Scunthorpe and the Director we met couldn't have have been more caring, friendly and understanding of our somewhat complicated financial situation. His knowledge and flexibility made our preferred choice possible.
If you want a beautifully, newly refurbished "home", with no expense spared don't delay; I can't imagine there being many spare rooms available for long.
I have seen a definite improvement in my relative's condition
I have visited Pingley Court on a few occasions to see a relative who is in respite care. On arrival, the various members of staff I have met are very welcoming and assist me in every way to help me to my relative's room, I am disabled and they even accompany me in the lift and make sure I am seated comfortably in the room.
The place is very homely and welcoming and the staff are so caring and patient I have seen a definite improvement in my relative's condition as she suffers from severe anxiety.
The facilities are brilliant and the staff were all really friendly and welcoming
Went to visit my mum yesterday who's in Pingley Court for respite care. It's the best I have seen her looking for a while. The facilities are brilliant and the staff were all really friendly and welcoming.
What will their room be like?
Pingley Court provides different rooms depending on your needs, budget and funding. However, whichever you choose, your loved one's room will be extremely well appointed and tastefully decorated to the highest standard.
It's really important that someone who is living with dementia has familiar surroundings so they feel calm and relaxed. So, we'd love you to bring your loved one's own ornaments, treasured mementos and small furniture items to make their room their own.
All rooms are large and flooded with light, both natural and artificial. This light and airy feel contributes to a feeling of calm, which will help your loved one to settle in quickly and easily.
Who will be looking after them?
We believe the best team in the region! You can meet them all here
Conveying the depth of care and expertise provided at a care home is difficult. After all, everyone says they have brilliant care. We truly believe you'll find the care your loved one experiences at Hoar Cross is the very best available. Here are a few things we hope will demonstrate that.
Reviews. The people who really know how good the care is are our residents and their families. Although a new home Pingley Court already has an excellent 9.1 out of 10 rating from the reviews left on www.carehome.co.uk That's an excellent overall satisfaction rating and one of the highest in the area.
Award Winning Manager. We're very lucky and proud to have Dawn Martin as the Home Manager. Dawn started her career in the care industry as a domestic assistant and over the next 14 years worked her way up to home manager, successfully running two large care homes.
In 2018 her hard work, dedication and excellent reputation was recognised and rewarded when she won the Dignity in Care Award at the National Care Awards.
Our Facebook and blog pages. Everyone says they provide brilliant care but how do you know it's true. We have lots of activities and events at Pingley Court which are published on our blog and Facebook page so that our residents' families can see what's happening with their loved one and get involved in the community surrounding the home.
Please feel free to check out our Facebook page here to see what a great life our residents enjoy. And while you're there why not Like the page to join the community. We'd love to hear from you!
But don't just take our word for it. We have an open door policy and you're more than welcome to chat with existing residents and their families for a first-hand account of the exceptionally high quality care your loved one will experience here.
What to do now
The best way to find out if Pingley Court is the right place for you is to come and visit.
So we'd like to invite you on a personal guided tour to really get to know the home. When you arrive we'll have a confidential chat about your requirements and then take you around the home to show you all the facilities. Afterwards you can ask us about anything we haven't covered, then talk to whomever you please.
We want you to be absolutely sure this is the right home for you, so you and your loved one are also more than welcome to join us for a day to meet everyone, get involved and see what life is like first hand. Or you can simply join us for lunch and one of the many entertainment sessions if a whole day is not convenient.
